Accessibility adjustments existing in the Tool

The average calculator includes a dedicated accessibility settings panel. It can be reached through the "Settings" tab in the Tool, under the heading "Accessibility". The adjustments available there:

  • Changing font size: A slider that allows setting the font size in the range between 12 and 24 pixels (default: 16). The change applies to the entire interface.
  • Font selection: An option to choose between four fonts - Rubik (default), Assistant, Heebo and Arial - for those for whom a particular font is more readable.
  • Dark mode: Switching the color scheme to a dark background with light text. As long as you have not chosen yourself, the calculator follows the device's display mode setting; a choice you make in the panel overrides the device setting.
  • High contrast mode: A dedicated mode with increased contrast - black background, white text and yellow highlights. In this mode the transparency and glass effects in the design, which make reading difficult for some users, are also disabled.
  • Reduce animations: A mode that cancels or shortens the animations in the interface - transitions between tabs, animations of changing numbers, mouse hover effects and celebration animations. Intended for users who are sensitive to motion on the screen. On the first visit the mode is turned on automatically if the operating system's "reduce motion" setting (prefers-reduced-motion) is active; you can change this manually at any time, and an explicit choice overrides the system setting and is saved for subsequent visits.
  • Choosing a primary color: An option to change the interface's accent color.

The settings are saved locally in the browser, so they persist between visits and there is no need to set them again on every visit. Since the saving is local, they must be set separately in each browser or device.

Additional adjustments in the Site's structure

  • Language and directionality: The entire Site is defined as Hebrew and with right-to-left directionality, so that screen readers receive the correct language and direction setting.
  • Semantic structure: The content pages and guides are built from a hierarchical heading structure and from semantic tags (heading, navigation, content), which assist navigation by means of a screen reader.
  • Use without registration: The Tool does not require registration, login or filling in unnecessary form fields - which reduces barriers to use.

Known limitations

We prefer to detail the limitations explicitly rather than leave them for the user to discover:

  • The adjustments panel applies to the calculator itself. The display adjustments described above (font size, dark mode, high contrast, reduced animations) operate in the calculator's interface. The static content pages - the guide, the articles, the privacy policy and this page - are not subject to this panel, and are displayed in a uniform, light design only. On these pages you can use the browser's built-in zoom tools.
  • No formal accessibility check was performed. The Site has not undergone an accessibility audit by an accessibility specialist, and no comprehensive check against screen readers or against a defined standard was performed. Accordingly, there may be components - and in particular interactive components such as charts, sliders and dialogs - that are not fully accessible.
  • Third-party content. Advertisements served through Google AdSense are managed entirely by Google, and we have no control over the accessibility level of the content displayed in them.

Level of compliance with the standard

Sites that provide a service to the public in Israel are subject to the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, which refer to Israeli Standard SI 5568, based on the WCAG 2.0 guidelines at level AA.

The adjustments described in this statement are intended to advance these principles, but we have not performed a formal compliance check and we do not declare compliance with any particular level of conformance - not level AA and not any other level. We prefer to provide accurate information about what exists and has been tested rather than make a broad declaration that has not been examined. As further checks are performed or adjustments are completed, this statement will be updated accordingly.

Reporting an accessibility problem

If you encountered an accessibility problem on the Site, difficulty performing some action, or you have a suggestion for improvement - we would be glad to hear. An inquiry on the subject of accessibility can be sent through the contact form.

So that we can handle the inquiry efficiently, it would help us if you include the following details: a description of the problem, the page or screen where it occurred, the browser type and operating system, and the assistive technology used (if relevant). We will try to respond to every inquiry and to handle the problems reported as far as possible.

For the general terms of use and the limitation of liability that apply to the use of the Site and its content, see the terms of use.
